- How very unfortunate and disappointing (to me) to see that Weebly.com has been moved to an e-commerce platform with the acquisition by Square. The current e-commerce platform primarily concentrates on business users, with a strategy to merge Weebly with Square Online.
- In 2014, I was asked to update a totally unsatisfactory website as soon as possible. Therefore, I chose to temporarily use Weebly.com with the intent of later migrating to WordPress, a far more customizable content management system. However, Weebly.com has been quite adequate for the church’s needs, that brings us to the current status.
- WordPress is a versatile and user-friendly content management system that powers over 43% of all websites, making it ideal for creating blogs, business sites, and eCommerce stores. It offers extensive customization options, a large community for support, and is SEO-friendly, helping your site to grow effectively.
- Recent very significant problems with the current Weebly.com CMS website, especially the site’s being unavailable to both the visitors and the administrators, deeply concerns me.
- My primary concern is that the current site’s ‘backups’ cannot be easily restored and would take a lot of time and work to do so. Therefore, I’ve recommended migrating spacny.org to a hosting service, where backups can typically be performed with a couple of ‘clicks’. Furthermore, should a web host be unsatisfactory, the site can readily be migrated to another more satisfactory host in a few minutes.
